Artist's Comments

I made a kaleidoscope.
Yup yup. Cut the glass, shattered beer bottles and old earrings for the coloured bits and all, since plastic ornaments look terrible.
Weirdest thing is, it works. Not too well; but works for my project.
I made it to shoot some frames for an animation I'm working on, and while photographing it so it actually looks alright ain't easy. This is a fluke. And a major crop.

Hah, yeah, I s';pose so too :) I've heard some pretty wild stuff about it.

Thank you! :D I'm surrpised it looks so good myself; I pretty much stuck the camera lens straight into the opening, I doubted it would focus at all. And yet it did.

That's pretty neat. Looks like there are at least twenty different faces in it, too, and they're all smiling :-)

Apart from the green one with red eyes. He seems a little pensive.

Whatever it is you're seeing, I'm not. I've tried half a dozen times now.
In those half a dozen times I've found a moth, a skull and a frog, but no smiling faces. :(
:iconhahawhat:
Is it a golden moth? Can't see a skull or frog anywhere! But I did just see a green mole.

The faces appear wherever there are two circles next to each other, especially around the symmetry. I often see faces in things even when it's really contrived and odd.
